STARMOUNT NOTICE
Radcliffe Angling Society has been informed by Bury Council that the proposed works to Starmount Top Lodge have been rescheduled due to budget issues. A new start date is to be confirmed.
Due to the scope of works to be undertaken by Bury Council, the club will be only able to carry out essential repairs and maintenance. Repairs to existing pegs and the building of new pegs will be started after Bury Council have finished their works. Discussions regarding the locations and construction for bivvy shelters are ongoing.
Official work parties for all club waters have now stopped for the winter.
Please remember that it is a legal requirement that you hold an appropriate Environment Agency Fishing License to fish any waters within the UK. The agency has recently been checking licenses on the bank at Starmount and Redbank waters.
All members are invited to the next club meeting to be held at Radcliffe Cricket Club Monday 9th December 2024 at 8pm.
Over the last couple of years the club has focused on amenity improvements and fish stocking at Starmount.
We have now increased fish stocks at Armitage Vale and Redbank and are also in the process of improving the existing facilities - foot access, pegs etc.
The club stocked 1000 F1s and 1000 mixed carp (all 6" - 8") and introduced them into Armitage Vale and two of the Redbank waters on March 28th 2024.
